Why I invited Aki, Paw Paw to meet flood victims – Uduaghan

Aki and Paw Paw visiting one of the camp in Delta state
DELTA State governor, Dr. Emmanuel Uduaghan, said Monday, that he invited popular Nollywood actors, Chinedu Ikedieze and Osita Iheme, popularly known as Aki and Paw Paw, to visit flood victims in the state as motivational speakers to alleviate the pains of the internally displaced persons.

Aki and Paw Paw were first noticed by some persons at the inauguration of the 12-man committee on the management of Federal Government fund released to the state over the flood disaster and the Post-Flooding Rehabilitation of Victims, headed by a retired Supreme Court Judge, Justice Francis Tabai, at Government House, Asaba, by Governor Uduaghan.

They were conspicuous in their attire and size and that attracted the crowd, which went hysterical.

Governor Uduaghan, who painted a sorrowful picture of the pains the internally displaced persons, IDPs, were going through, having been sacked from their homes by flood, said everybody who knew how to ease pains should help to ease the pains of the victims.

The governor said he decided to invite Aki and Paw Paw after he visited the Institute of Continuing Education, ICE, flood victims’ camp at about 11.00 pm on a certain day and discovered that the IDPs, who were watching a Nollywood movie, were so engrossed that they barely gave him attention when he walked in.

Uduaghan said: “As I walked in, half of the population were watching television; you know we provided a giant television for them.

“I tried to attract their attention. Some looked at me and greeted me, but they turned to continue watching the television. When I looked at the television, I saw it was Aki, Paw Paw and Ibu that they were watching.

“You see, because they were watching Aki, Paw Paw and Ibu, they forgot their pains. For them, these Nollywood actors were helping them to ease their pains. That was why I invited them to go to the different camps as motivational speakers because the victims require a lot of motivation, while they are preparing to go back home.”

The governor observed that some of the victims, indeed, required psychological support, adding that he was optimistic that Aki and Paw Paw would provide it for them.

“That is why they are here as motivational speakers.  I believe that the few minutes they will spend will ease the pains of our IDPs. Those who have ability to ease those in pains, please help, it is not about food alone for the victims – that will not ease their pains.”

Actor Enebeli Elebuwa getting better in Indian hospital

The veteran actor who was stricken by stroke late last year, is currently in India receiving treatment. He was flown to India a few weeks back by the Delta State Government through its Commissioner of Culture, Richard Mofe Damijo. Elebuwa said recently via a telephone interview with a reporter that he's getting better and is now able to stand unaided for a few minutes for the first time since the illness started late last year.

Heavily pregnant Mercy Johnson still shooting movies

Mercy Johnson is about seven months pregnant but that hasn't slowed her down one bit as she's said to be moving from one movie location to another. What movie producers and marketers now do is write scripts that suit her condition - that of a pregnant woman.
She recently finished shooting a movie in Delta state and has embarked on another one titled Baby Oku in America which I hear some parts will be shot in the US while she's there to give birth

I’m Shooting The Videos Of My Songs Soon, Haters Can't Stop Me” - Tonto Dikeh

Tonto Dikeh

To every hardened critic and those that think she will be a flash in the pan, Tonto Dikeh has a message for you all: There is no stopping her. In an exclusive interview with Stella Dimok-Korkus, Tonto speaks extensively about her music career and how she plans to build on from her first two singles:

What prompted you into singing?

I love music and I wanted to do my own thing, to contribute my own music.

You got monstrous negative response to both singles. How did feel with all the attacks?

I listened to my songs over and over again and I told myself I did well. In all I see only the positivity in it,I made History. Peoples opinion of how my music was has further strengthened my belief that dreams die when you let the next man’s opinion get to you and I am using now to pass a message to everyone out there, if you can just do it. Don’t let anyone’s opinion kill whatever dream you have or try to stop you from taking the next step.

You tweeted that you were not giving up. Does that mean you will become actively involved in music?

I love my acting career and I don’t see myself jumping into full time music. I am however shooting the musical video of my songs,I will not let the hating stop me.

You released your song on Wednesday October 17, 2012 and two days later despite the negativity your song had hit 5.2 million download on the internet. How do you feel?

The most unanticipated and hated song became the most talked about, most controversial, most downloaded and of course the most listened song.I feel great Stella, no regrets.!

We look forward to the musical videos.till then I am sure comedians will soon add
Your song jokes to their shows.

Hopefully. Thank you and here’s a loud shout out and thank you to everyone who stood up for me.

OMOTOLA Tells To BBC: Nollywood Is Complete Without Hollywood [VIDEO]

Though Nollywood may be less than 40 years in existence as compared to Hollywood, but according to one of the industry's best, Omotola Jalade-Ekeinde, Nollywood can be better than America's movie industry known as Hollywood. This is because the Africa's movie queen believes Nigeria is now making good and quality films that can compete favourably with Hollywood movies.

Omotola, who was in London few days ago for the world premiere of her newest flick 'Amina', declared this to Focus on Africa's Fidelis Mbah when she was caught up with.

Jim Iyke Opens Up On Alleged 11-Year-Old UK Love Child

Few days ago, the internet was abuzz with news involving Nollywood 'bad boy' actor, Jim Iyke and a UK-based lover named Chantelle Nkechi Benson. It was reported that some years ago, Jim Iyke and Chantelle reportedly had a romantic affair while the latter was an Abia
State University undergraduate. Now, the lady is presently a barrister in the UK.

The report claimed that Chantelle has an 11 years old child for the actor which he (Jim) was never aware of until recently.

However, Jim was reported to have only spoken with child, who is a boy named Mario, on the phone but is yet to meet him.

Reacting to the story, Jim Iyke, through his publicist, Mitch Ngaman, said the talented actor is still trying to get to the root of the matter just because of the innocent boy involved.

This was made known through a statement made available to the media on the matter. The unedited statement reads;
"Jim Iyke is aware of the viral story currently making the headlines and wishes to state that this is not the first time that issues of this nature have arisen. Friends and fans who follow his activities closely will recall a number of occasions in the past when baseless claims of paternity and even marriage were made.

"Nonetheless, as a responsible man, he is always disposed to verify any such development(s) brought to his attention and when any satisfactory outcome has been ascertained, the general public will be duly informed without ambiguity. The only specifics at the present time is that at the age of 22yrs-23yrs old he dated for a brief period the lady at the center of the story who subsequently left Nigeria for the UK.

"There had been no contact between them ever since and by implication no linkling of the existence of a living product of that encounter. Since this is more about an innocent child than the star himself we advise caution and respect for privacy.

MITCH NGAMAN

Media Manager."

Will Jim Iyke's investigation unearth more facts? Many await
